Edgie’s Tropical Treats are years in the making. Donna Wynter, a native of Kingston, Jamaica had it in mind many years ago but her career as an Executive Chef always took precedence over her love of experimenting in the kitchen with her good taste. Now, she finally has time to do what she loves most, creating and developing new and refreshing flavors to please your palate.
Edgie’s name comes from her late Father, Edgerton “Edgie” Wynter, former Assistant Commissioner of the Jamaican Police Force.
Donna met Robert MacNeill at The French Culinary Institute (NYC) in April 1987, where they both graduated later that year. Robert, a sixth generation Floridian from Coconut Grove, cooked alongside Donna in several South Florida restaurants and eventually they opened a catering and pastry shop together, “MacNeill’s Catering” in South Miami. They remained friends over the years and have now partnered up again with Edgie’s Tropical Treats.
Donna developed and adapted recipes she has collected and after careful research has presented these products for Edgie’s line of delightful Preserves, Crumb Cakes, Sweets and Brunch items. All of our products are proudly sourced and made in the USA. No preservatives or additives of any kind are used in our recipes.
All of the Preserves are made in the French style with ripe, whole, fresh fruit, pure cane sugar, (no fructose corn syrup) pure vanilla bean paste, fresh squeezed lemon juice, etc. All of our fruit and produce are locally sourced here in South Florida. Bedner’s Farm Fresh Market in Boynton Beach and The Boys Farmers Market in Delray Beach are two of our sources.
